Leadership possibilities, networking, educational opportunities, and fantastic memories abound!
As a member of RSNA, you represent the mission and values of our organization. The highlight of our school year is participation in the STATE and NATIONAL conventions. For the New Jersey Nursing Students Convention and National Students Nursing Association Convention, each chapter is allowed to send a certain number of delegates and monitors to speak and act on behalf of their organization. YOU may be one of the lucky few to have the honor of putting on your best suit or blazer and presenting yourself and our chapter to the state and the nation.
What is the NJNS annual convention?
VIRTUAL THIS YEAR! Each year, the New Jersey Nursing Students, Inc. Board of Directors puts together a two day convention that features various leadership and career development opportunities. Over 1,000 nursing students attend for opportunities to listen to renowned nursing leaders during breakout focus sessions. As one of the largest student nurse conventions in the country, there are also many opportunities to network with other students and professionals who attend, especially in the exhibitor hall, which features organizations including schools and hospitals. The program also includes a state board exam mini review and will include a Narcan training program on the second day.

What is a delegate?
At convention, there are also House of Delegate meetings that occur throughout the span of the event. In these meetings, delegates (representatives of each nursing school in NJ) vote on certain topics, including bylaw changes, resolutions, and elections for the next state Board of Directors. Each school can send one delegate for every 25 NSNA members in their school. Delegates will receive free registration courtesy of NJNS.
